Electric vs Petrol: who consumes less?

The electric car has many advantages over a traditional petrol car.

It does not pollute, is not subject to traffic blocks and enjoys many tax incentives.
If you think in terms of consumption, the electric car is much cheaper.

We compared the cost incurred to travel 100km on a mixed electric route with that incurred to travel the same petrol route.
As a sample we took the best-selling cars of 2021: the electric Fiat 500 and the petrol-powered Fiat Panda.

The parameters we have taken into account are two:
1. The average consumption in kW / h and in liters.
2. The average cost of recharging at a public column (for electric ones) and the average price of petrol at a distributor of 0.4 € per kW / h and 1.9 € per liter respectively.

The data that emerged is that traveling 100km in electric costs € 7 while petrol costs € 15.
Electric cars, therefore, consume less than half of a petrol car: this translates into cheaper journeys and greater comfort.
